Monday night was Monkton NEEMA night – lots of over 35’s running, jumping and throwing stuff, whilst having a good time. We started this week with the Monday monthly mile. A fabulous turnout, with an equally fabulous mix of young and ‘older’ members. Monday was NEMAA for many of you – Fixture 4 of 6. No info, but I do have a few pics. Tuesday was training night. A much smaller cohort than usual, as many of you were in town for a race! WC 24th June – Weekly Round-up

Monday was a big day for Heaton Harriers as it saw us host the Anita Nott Ladies only 5K Memorial Run through Jesmond Dene and Heaton Park. We started the week with some very sad news when we learned that Keith Rooney, a Heaton Harrier for many years, had passed away. Keith had battled with cancer over the past year and only a few months ago was told he had won that battle. Sadly secondary cancer and complications from his treatment took over and he lost the war.
