Yesterday was the running of the 2015 Thirsk 10 Mile Road Race with a good crowd from Heaton present at the race. Helped by the race being on the Winter Grand Prix Series. The course is flat and fast (wind depending). Starts and finishes at Thirsk racecourse. Today was the 33rd running of the Brass Monkey Half Marathon run by Knavesmere Harriers. It was icy conditions from miles 5 to 7. Other than that, it was really good racing conditions. On Wednesday night, the annual Newburn run was held, in what can only be described as a hot racing conditions. This said, there was a good Heaton turnout that toed the start line.
