COVID 19 LATEST UPDATE

Dear Club Members 

This is to update you impact of the latest Local Covid19 Government restrictions on HH activities.  Clearly there is increasing concern regarding the spreading of the virus in the region, so we all need to abide by the new rules and take personal responsibility for hygiene, social distancing etc. 

As far as HH is concerned we will CONTINUE WITH OUR PLANNED schedule as it is permissible within the Government and UKA guideline for ORGANISED sports and fitness activities.  We understand that sometimes this can appear ambiguous in the literature so just think of us as a ‘Club without Walls’.  Many of the rules and regs relate to infrastructure.  We operate solely in the Open Air and that makes things a little easier.  Just as you will see the Kayak Club on the coast in action and Cycle Clubs active, so can we run – as long as it is Club organised and Covid19 secure. 

There are a couple of changes we will introduce with immediate effect:- 

  1. We are making ‘Sunday Club Run @9am’ from Blue Flames (car park) a formal part of the Club Training Session.  This will now be a Club Session where we will apply Covid19 Safe regulations e.g. register of names, max 6 in mini group.etc.   
  2. We request that you wear a club top if possible to Club Training Sessions.  This is to enable members of the public to see that it is a sports Club activity rather than a random gathering of people 

Please note the following for your own action:- 

  1. Be aware that while running with others at a club session is allowed and it is the Club’s responsibility to organise, it is not permissible to arrive/depart with someone from another household.  The latter is your responsibility. 
  2. Traditionally the Sunday run has been an informal gathering of members who have met and run a variety of longer distance and pace each week.  Under the local lockdown government guidelines this would now be against the rules – hence our change.  You can only run with members of another household if part of an organised club event.  So, if you do want to run with others, please come to club on Tuesday, Thursday and now, even, Sunday!
