Training nights:

The list below shows the proposed main sessions for club nights until early June. For most club nights, we meet at Whitley Park from 6:45pm for training to start at 7pm. The main exception to this is the Club Handicap. Any newcomers who are thinking of joining would probably find a Tuesday to be the better night for a first session, but feel free to come on a Thursday if it is more convenient for you.

In order to fit in comfortably with the main sessions, and to get maximum benefit from them, we recommend you should be able to run/jog for at least 45 minutes. Anyone thinking of joining who is not yet able to manage that, or anyone currently training in group 6 or 7 who is finding the going tough, is welcome to try our beginners' sessions instead. These also start at 7pm, but only on Tuesdays.

For Tuesday nights, most of the sessions will be done in groups based on 10K times:

Group 1: sub 37'     Group 2: 37'-41'     Group 3: 41'-42'     Group 4: 42'-44' 
Group 5: 44'-47'     Group 6: 47'-50'     Group 7: 50'-55'     Group 8: 55'+

The Thursday night sessions have in recent times been for the more experienced runners, but we are now trying to build the Thursday nights up to accommodate all the groups, and hopefully make Thursdays as popular as Tuesdays. We also plan to incorporate a shorter, faster session as an alternative on some club nights to cater for runners who are targeting the track or shorter road races. Details of these will be added once they are finalised.
