Plans for Christmas & beyond

Just a very quick post to round up some runs you can get involved in over the next few weeks.

Please note that there will be no official sessions on the 24th, 26th or 31st December, but you’re welcome to arrange to meet at the club to go for a run on those nights.

Thursday 19th December – Christmas 5km handicap and then on to the Lindisfarne

Saturday 21st December – volunteers are needed at Rising Sun parkrun for this Saturday, and the next (28th). Get in touch via their Facebook page, or email if you’re available to help.

Sunday 22nd December – Cragside Trust 10k. A free run (not a race!) on the Cragside estate, register before 8:40am at the Tea Rooms for a 9am start. Lift shares likely to be available.

Thursday 26th December – Christmas Pudding 5km Fun Run – register at the Comrades Club in Whitley Bay from 9:30am, for a 10:30am start. The £7 entry fee goes to Woodlawn School and you get a mini Christmas pudding donated by Sainsbury’s when you finish.

Wednesday 1st January – Resolution Run on the Town Moor – There’ll be a 1km junior run at 10:40am, followed by the 10k fun run at 11am. Volunteers are needed to help with registration and marshalling. The £10 entry fee is split between St Oswald’s Hospice and WaterAid. Speak to Paramjeet if you’re available to help.

Saturday 4th January – Sherman Cup / Davison Shield Cross Country at Temple Park, South Shields – use your Harrier League number to take part in this standalone XC race. If you’re not yet registered for Harrier League and want to run, let me or Scott know.

We’d also like to know if anyone wants to run at the Birtley XC relays on 19th January, or Northern XC Championships at Bedale on 25th January. Follow the links to register an interest in running, or speak to me or Scott.
