Weekly Round-Up WC 18th November

A bit of a disaster this week. Firstly I accidentally deleted my first basic draft of the round-up. Then the training schedule was updated so I don’t know what the sessions were last week and now the consolidation report for parkrun isn’t working. Grrrrr

Tuesday & Thursday – Heaton Training Sessions!! – The End.

Saturday – A wet, soggy start to parkrun for most of us. Well done to all those that ran and especially those that marshalled. It wasn’t great weather to be stood around in.

So what do I know about Saturday’s parkrun. It was wet!!! I do know that John Sturman was 1st overall finisher at Windy Nook parkrun. I know because John told me. Well done John. Also Steve Waters achieved a PB at Victoria parkrun in Leicester – 26:39 – brill. Ken Mcentee and fam headed to Blyth. I also know that Amelie Brook was first overall female at Rising Sun. Amazing effort Amelie.

Saturday afternoon was the ultimate mud-fest. I love mud and puddles – but this was a different level. I could barely stand up – Kudos to those who actually managed to race. I am going to assume no one achieved a course PB!

I don’t know what more I can say – so instead will let the following enourmous montage tell the story.

Ladies and Men over 65

Men’s Race

Sunday saw a good looking crew of Heaton Harriers head to Cragside for what we thought was the last 10k trail of 2019. However – they have now decided to run one in December – Tinsel Run on 22nd December. Should be a laugh. I will post a reminder about this on FB nearer the time.

Elsewhere Julie Ellis and Sarah Melville ran the Run Nation Big 10 Miler at Kirkley. They flew round – knocking off 5 minutes from last year. Fabulous running ladies. I have done that one myself – its tough.

Christmas Shindig – I am now wanting your pre-order. If you aren’t on FB, please contact me by email – heatonharriers.activity@gmail.com

Cheers – Abbie
